"Might take a while, though..."
Saki mused while they went back to the small group of triad members who had been volunteered (*g*) to be Sakis security for now.
They didn't look too happy about it, though... and who could blame them?
Saki took a moment to regard and evaluate his meager force.
"Who can hotwire a car?" he asked and one of them stepped hesitatingly forwards.
"Good. Streets are mostly blocked, we'd have trouble get through. You!"
With this he pointed to the obviously strongest one of the group.
"You will have to carry our package if we have to change cars. Everyone who can ride a motorbike, get one and the others, hop on. Our target is midtown, so if we're forced to split up, meeting point is there..."
he turned to Charity.
"Address?"

Mikey backed away from Leo a little after his elder brother's small outburst. Yeah, maybe he shouldn't have put it that way. But hey, how was he supposed to know? "Yeesh, sorry, bro." From that tone alone, he could tell things didn't go that well and Leo wasn't telling him everything. Setting traps and repairing old ones wouldn't normally put you in that kind of mood.

He slowly approached Leo again, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Wanna talk about it?" And he was dead serious this time. They were all in a pretty sour mood now, apparently, so all the joking was put aside for now.

He glanced over at Don when he re-entered the main area. Unfortunately, it looked like he was the only one that hadn't finished his chores yet and knew that Master Splinter wouldn't be pleased. He sighed heavily.

"On second thought, maybe you should talk to Donnie about it, Leo. I got more work to do," he said and turned to head back into the kitchen.

"Oh, nnono you may stay if you want to..."
Leo didnt know, if he should tell them or not, or if he should talk to master about it first, but maybe his brothers could help him with this subject.
".....I killed a child...." was all he said in the first place.

Mikko leaned against the cool bricks, she closed her eyes and savored her joint. She was almost dreading going back inside the lair and took her time out there. Until she started hearing a moaning noise.

At first she thought about investigating the noise. But then thought better of it. She quickly ran back inside.

"there's something out there." She informed and took another deep inhale on her joint. "sounds big too"

Deep down, Mikey was hoping Leo would stop him before he went back into the kitchen. After all, he was still concerned about what was bothering his blue-clad brother. But what Leo actually said, made his jaw drop to the ground.

"You...what?" he asked him, in total disbelief. He turned around to face Leo completely and put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Dude...what happened, Leo?" Surely it had to be a mistake or something. But now he fully understood why it really bugged Leo. He remembered the people he had to kill...infected or not, it still didn't feel right.

"Oh man, Leo. I'm so sorry."

Just then, his attention went back to Mikko and frowned at what she said. They found the lair? Oh man! Then he looked at Donnie. "You have something for these guys, right? Some sort of traps to keep them from coming in?" If they found the lair and found a way to get in, they'd never be safe again. This was their last refuge. And Mikey really didn't like the idea of taking more lives.

She rattled off the address, still a little skeptical that he would go to all this trouble for her, still very confused as to why. But she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth, quick to stand beside him, ready to leave when he was, not about to let him out of her sight in case he gave her the slip. After all, she'd helped him retrieve the medicine now, and had shown the others how to give injections. What was she needed for?

Post  Oroku Saki Mon Jul 19, 2010 10:28 pm

After a brief goodbye to Old Man Chiu - Jin/Jiao was obviously not returning, much to Sakis relief - the little group went out of the fortress.
When the heavy door banged shut, Saki closed his eyes and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Let's get the fuck out of this nuthouse!"
he growled.
"People, who want nothing more than to mutilate the shit out of their god-given, healthy genitals, old crones who hope I'd rape them, I have pretended to want to marry this transvestite nutjob... gah! I take my luck with the zombies *any* day!"

After this rant, which the unvoluntary volunteers listened to in subdued silence, he made an impatient gesture, and the triad members scurried away to fetch their bikes. Fortunately it didn't take them too long and not five minutes later they were off to midtown.
Or perhaps, into hell...

Post  Donatello Tue Jul 20, 2010 4:41 am

Donatello looked shocked for a fraction of a second then concerned and solemn.
Almost out of instinct, he had moved over and put his hand on Leo's other shoulder joining
in with Mikey's comfort and support, in silence at first though since he didn't want to interrupt Mikey's words of comfort to Leo. They only killed when they had no other option if even that and for Leo to have to resort to that with a child, things had to have been grim, at the point of no return. Never even for a second did he think ill of Leo for it. It was a grim reminder of what they would have to do to survive if they were attacked.

Then Mikko alerted them to something closing in on their location, their home!
He exchanged glances with Mikey and Leo and nodded as Mikey asked him about the traps.
"Yeah, we have a lot of traps out there and some in here, Mikey. The entrance isn't easy to find, if we stay put and concealed chances are they will miss us and move on. Of course with pain crazed individuals there are too many variables to validate the accuracy of that theory." He said in a hushed voice, slipping into his ' braniac speak' mode for a moment.

He looked at their troubled fearless leader, quizzical. "Leo, what do you think?"

Arms wrapped around Bill and clinging to him for dear life, literally, Charity closed her eyes briefly, cheek resting against Bill's back, knowing it wouldn't bother him compared to everything else he was dealing with right now. If she kept her eyes closed, she just might be able to shut out the horror around her, might be able to pretend this was just some incredibly vivid nightmare and could hope that she would wake up, safe and warm.
Of course, the fact that cold air whipped cruelly at her face and her body ached all over from being pushed beyond its usual boundaries, didn't help at all in the illusion.

Of course, driving in a convoywas going to attract a lot more attention than just a single, silenced bike, but they made do.
Speeding up occasionally, sometimes merely turning around if there was a streed bloockade or just a suspicious-looking bunch of humanoids, it too them a long time to get even close to their target.
Additionally, they had to evade the occasional heavily armoured army humvee and Saki started to wonder, when they would bring in the tanks
Or, considering that they were Americans, simply nuke the whole city into the seventh circle of hell.
He would have betted everything on the thesis that at least one of these trigger-happy armchair generals that infested the Oval Office had suggested exactly this already for his five minutes of fame...

But this circling around didn't get them far, finally Saki had to realize that when he found hoimself close to Central Park once more.
Damn!
He stopped his machine, gesturing for the others to stop as well, when a sound from down the street made him flinch and turn.
A giant shadow was moving there...

"Yes...." Leo simply said. "I think the same.....and maybe should go to master splinter now."
He hoped, that splinter would be done with his and Raphs meditation. So he sipped the rest of his juice, put the glas into the sink and left the room.
Soon he stood infront of masters chambers and listened to any sounds. Were they still busy? Should he try and knock?
"MAster?" he asked while he quietly knocked on the door...

Post  Master Splinter Sat Jul 24, 2010 6:23 am

The candles in the dojo were burning steadily, not the slightest movement of air disturbed them... so peaceful... so tranquillating.
After he had seen to it that Raphael finally went into deep trance, he could shift his attention towards his own troubled mind.
What was to do and what *could* they reasonably do without endangering themselves? They were ninja, for sure, therefore trained to overcome incredible odds without a thought about the danger... but in this case, there was no possibility to use their specific knowledge and talents... except probably for Donatello.
But Splinter might not have been specifically schooled in the scientific department, but from Donatellos occasional mumblings, he had deducted that his equipment was lamentably outdated and not very sophisticated. He had tried hard to help and encourage his more intellectual son in his quest for knowledge, but there was only so much he could do, when sometimes procuring even food was an issue.
Therefore, while Donatello could certainly offer advice how to act and to protect themselves and - possibly - others, it would be asked too much for him to do to find a solution to the main problem.

Leonardo... even his brilliant strategical mind seemed to be overtaxed with this plague and Splinter couldn't blame him. If he, the master had no idea what to do, how should his admittedly best student have one...

Michelangelo... he was too absorbed in his wooing of the young lady to be of any use right now. In fact, he was starting to become a liability. Of course, Splinter loved all of his sons, but momentarily Mikey was giving him a bigger headache than ever before. He could only hope that his other sons would be extra careful around Miss McKinnon to make up for Mikeys... hormones.

And Raphael... his rage made it hard for him to stay reasonable... and put. It would be a matter of days for cabin fever to set in... and right now, the elderly rat heard a voice from the outside of the dojo, calling his name.

Silently, he rose from his position, not to disturb Raphael and went outside to inquire.
Leonardo was in front of his door, obviously distressed and unhappy.
"Leonardo."
he addressed him gently.
"What troubles you, my son?"

Leo stood there and fiddled with his fingers while Splinter opened the door.
He looked over Splinters shoulder and saw Raph sitting there still meditating. So he had disturbed them, what never was his plan. "I..um...." Leo stuttered. "I ..didnt mean to disturb you, sensei. I better come back later again when you are finished" he said and turned around to disappear in his room.

He sat onto his bed again waiting for Splinter to finish his meditation session with Raph. "Maybe I should lay down a bit" he said to himself and did so, looking to the ceiling.
A few minutes later he was asleep.

Splinter blinked, a little bewildered by Leonardos overly hasty retreat, but he got the notion that it might be better to allow his son a little time to calm his mind first.
Instead of following Leonardo, he casted a look back to Raphael, who was still meditating - thank Buddha for small mercies!
But as much as he would have liked to rejoin the hothead in peaceful meditation, he sensed that something was amiss and it was his duty, as the father, to inquire about the problem.
Slowly he made his way over to his remaining two sons and their extraordinary houseguest.
"My sons..."
he said softly.
"...can you explain to me, what is bothering your brother that much?"

Mikey nodded to Don's response. He felt a little better, but not much. Especially when his brother sank into other possible theories. But there was nothing else they could do anyway. So if they found it, they found it. Mikey would do what he had to to protect their home.

He watched Leo head towards Master Splinter's room and turned back to Donnie, shaking his head. "Man. I feel really bad for him," he told Don then looked toward the kitchen again. "I gotta go finish my stuff now."

Mikey was about to make another attempt to get back into the kitchen when their father stopped him in his tracks, asking what was wrong with Leonardo. He wasn't sure how much he should tell Master Splinter or how much had been said already.

He looked at the elderly rat as he spoke. "He said he found some trouble when he was out." His saddened look turned towards the doorway again then back at Splinter. "I got stuff to finish, Master Splinter," he said, giving his father a slight bow and headed for the kitchen again.

Mikko took a long slow drag on her join and blew the smoke out away from everyone. She watched as Mike went back to the kitchen then looked back at Splinter. "You all are prepared for if those things get in here right? Cuz I'm thinking that maybe we'd be better off on higher ground." She said, meaning the roof tops. Every zombie movie she ever seen, the monsters couldn't climb, so they would be safer up there then down here....right? She thought so anyway.

She was about to say more, but another wave of sickness overcame her and she fled to the bathroom.

:BISHOP:

"So one of our own decided to double cross us?" Bishop read over the report being given to him by the few investigating the RLV's escape. "This might prove... fortunate if the good Professor and his apprentice managed to stay alive."

It appeared that Professor Robertson and his lab assistant had unwittingly somehow lost control of the virus en route to rendezvous with outside interest Peoples Rights and Conspiracy Nuts groups... or something of the sort, Bishop's mind left the detailed report of how the old professor and his easily influenced geneticist protégé planned and then went on to do a fool hardy venture. He was studying the map that had been detailed, taking in the locations. Perhaps... just perhaps... an old 'Ally' of sorts could be of some use in locating the missing Professor and student, after all Bishop needed to have some one to blame this on - and wash his hands and the proverbial hands of his agency free of the blood of this incident. All that was needed was the scapegoats either dead or alive. Hm he just needed somebody to be able to find the pair.

:BROWNIE:

The hulking shadowy form snorted and shifted pawing the concrete beneath him nervously ears up and head turned towards this new noise... trembling nostrils taking in the scents of this new threat. The dark brown of his dirty coat blended well with the shadows so at first it would be hard to make out the animal.

Tired, hungry, thirsty and covered in a few scratches and bites the tall police horse Brownie prepared himself to have to kick or bite some more, a few unmoving two legged ones lay strewn around his hooves, he'd had to defend himself from them - the smell of death was adding to the stress of his predicament but try as he might to pull his reins free they would not budge.

Splinter considered the young womans words, now, that she seemed to think a bit more.. rational.
To turn to the rooftops was certainly tempting... free sight and all that, but on the other hand, they weren't eactly ordinary people. A helicopter or something like that, reporters or the army or whoever managed to acquire a flying vehicle and controlled the city would expose them once and for all to the public.
He wasn't sure if death wouldn't be preferable to the fate they would have to face, once exposed.

"Of course, it would be an option..."
he began cautiously, but was surprised by her bolting for the bathroom.
"Oh..."
He looked after her, ears rotating and visibly confused, before he shook and returned his attention towards his sons.
"As we have experienced, sound seems to enrage them."
he stated quietly.
"I would suggest that we all remain as quiet as possible and hope that Miss Mikko did not attract their attention. Donatello, would you check if the traps inside our modest home are armed? Leonardo returned and seemed... unwell. I am not sure if he had the presence of mind to secure the door properly."

It was large and something about it clicked occasionally... and it was definitely not human, hell not even infected human!
But for now, it - whatever "it" was didn't attack, whaich was good in Sakis book.
He nudged Charity to get of the bike, so he could dismount himself and carefully, his bokken drawn, he approached the new enemy.
The triad members stood back, unwilling to risk their lifes for the curiousity of their new "leader".
"Whatever you are, bastard, I'm going to kick your stinky ass six ways to sunday."
Saki promised angrily... but he talked!
The infected humans could not talk, they merely shrieked and snarled.
Brownie started to think...

:BROWNIE:

And whilst thinking he took in the smell of this speaking human again - then those at his hooves... the speaking one did not smell like these one had when they had been shrieking and screaming and leaping at him!! Maybe he would be fed and given a drink now?!

The gelding was suitably excited by this and pulled on his reins again answering the angry voice with a happy sort of horsey squeal and a snort.

Unbeknownst to the gelding the short battle with the now rotting person near his front hooves had resulted in the knot of his teether coming a little bit undone and as he pulled now it still felt tight but the knot was slipping....

Saki flinched back when the giant monster gave a strange sound... what in the blue hell was this?
It didn't sound aggressive, though...
"Uh...hello?"
Saki tried it again, some of the triad goons chuckling quietly.
"Anybody got a flashlight?"
Saki asked quietly, keeping his distance for now.
No one had thought to bring one, but one of the fellows, a wiry, small guy with alert eyes dared to flash the headlights of his bike for a second, revealing... oh my.
A horse.

Tied to a lantern post, surrounded by a few corpses, that was all the flash of light had shown.

Fallen... (Rpg in progress) - Page 15 Empty Re: Fallen... (Rpg in progress)

Post  Oroku Saki Thu Jul 29, 2010 9:51 am

Saki froze, opening his eyes wider.
What in the blue hell did a goddamn *horse* do in a street in NYC?
The only horses he occasionally saw were thoroughbreds in Belmont Park - some of his business associates liked the flair of the turf or even had racing horses themselves - or police horses.
He thought intently... the horse hadn't been a thoroughbred and the saddle seemed larger. It had to be a police horse.
Normally, he wouldn't have bothered with the animal, they had more important things to do... but there was something about this creature...
Despite of the fact that time was running short, Saki took a moment to recall what he had learned so recently about rabies.
"Warm-blooded animals."
he repeated quietly, more or less to himself.
"That should include horses."

Now nobody would have thought that Oroku Saki knew only the first thing about horses and he did not, but he *knew* how the infected acted. Furthermore, he knew how they felt, they felt wrong... the horse didn't so far.
For want of a better method, Saki closed his eyes and focused by slowly forming kuji-kiri with his hands, while he sent his mind out to touch the mind of the creature.
Some seconds later he opened his eyes again.
"Does anybody has something to eat?"
he asked seemingly randomly.

Some of the triads started to search their pockets.
"Ummm... a Mars bar?"
one of them offered hesitatingly.

"That'll do."
Saki decided and snatched the snack.
Slowly, he unwrapped the bar, taking care to crackle a lot with the wrapping, before he took a very small bite.
"Mmmmhm, soo good... do you want some, horse?"
he asked, still rustling with the wrapper.

Reaching out his neck as far as his reins would allow - even if the food the man was offering smelled a bit to sweet Brownie was not going to turn down any morsel or scrap at this point. With his ears forward listening he sniffed and tried to convinced the two legged man to give him whatever it was in his hand by way of snorts and soft snuffle like neighs...

unfortunately he was pulled up a whisker away from the mans hand by the reins though the steady pull he put on them now was again pulling the knot loose some more, close to being pulled free completely.
